"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says..."
God bless you.
The One Who is "in the trenches" with us, the Friend Who sticks closer than a brother, the Spirit of Truth, the Spirit Who indwells the Father, the Spirit of Christ Jesus...
We could go on and on about our Teacher, Protector, Empowerer, and Comforter. He deserves it all, He IS all those things at the loving behest of the Father and to the unending pleasure of our Intercessor, the Lord Jesus.
I appreciate Holy Spirit. Without Him, we'd be dead (and in hell). He is all-powerful, all-loving, all-giving; always patient and kind, all-discerning, and ALL-Wise! He IS the Spirit Who indwells Abba; that makes Him no joke, y'all. Bless His Holy Name.
To love Them each is to love Them all. That is the glorious mystery of God; He is God in all His parts, and all of His fullness indwells the Body of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ. HALLELUJAH!
We THANK YOU, Father God and Precious Lord Jesus for sending us "another Comforter" Who leads us into all Truth and reminds us of all things God the Son has taught and told us in the Father's Name. Blessed be the Godhead forever, and thank You, Yahweh, for PENTECOST.
"For the law was given through Moses, but Grace and Truth came through Jesus Christ."
We all need attention; the hearts, minds, wills, and emotions of us all need maintenance, instruction, and affirmation, and that's nothing of which to be ashamed.
However, proper tending and growth of these things are God's alone to nurture. Attention, sought from anyone or anywhere else, makes an idol of those things and makes us idolaters.
Beloved, what do you prize more than God and HIS affection and attention? If your answer is anything other than nothing and no one - ask God to examine your heart.
While we are not to "closet" or shut down our affections or devalue those of others, we must allow Holy Spirit to put "performance" and "man-pleasing" far from us so that Almighty God can have full jurisdiction over our deepest heart.
Who cares what people think, y'all... we're not living for them; they are not our source or our judge. We are not even to be our own judge in the sense of condemnation or justification, because the human heart is flawed. But, as the scriptures say, "if our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our hearts and knows all things." (1 John 3:20) Amen. When our cravings and expectations are focused properly - directed toward God alone - not even our hearts will condemn us because Holy Spirit will confirm that righteousness to our hearts in confidence towards God.
Get in your secret place and pour out your substance to God, beloved. He won't turn you away, and you'll receive all the attention you desire. Only the Lord can meet our true needs, for they are tailored for His care and handling alone. Amen.
God bless you.
If most of us are honest, we'll admit that - at least starting out - we're more interested in seeing God's hand at work in our lives than His heart. It may sound harsh or even strange, but the flesh loves to make demands of God on the "work" end of things. It's true. The flesh wants "action", folks - and it wants it NOW, doesn't it?
"Do this for me, God... Do that for me, Savior... Right now, O, God... RIGHT NOW!" I'm not saying God can't act quickly on our behalf, but I am saying that, very often, that's actually the cry of the flesh in "soulish" prayers that have little or nothing to do with the humility and maturity of the Spirit of Almighty God.
So then, what's it like to seek His HEART? What does that really mean, and what elements does it entail?
I'll tell you right now, it's not about anything the flesh will enjoy... not in the least. For seeking the "heart" of our God means looking - first and foremost - to do things HIS WAY and on HIS SCHEDULE and TIME TABLE. Yep, that's right. And one of the highest forms of refinement applied to every child of God straight from His Heart is learning to wait on His will and plan in our lives. What's more, seeking Abba's heart means not "figuring out" things on our own day-to-day, but allowing Holy Spirit to lead the way and do the decision-making in every aspect of life - ESPECIALLY in transforming our mindsets, views, and belief systems. (Can't you just see the flesh cringing at these truths?!)
When we "seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness", what do you truly think that means? Well, scripture also says that God's Kingdom is not meat and drink, but "righteousness, peace, and JOY in Holy Spirit", right? Beloved, all those elements (Righteousness, Peace, Joy in Holy Spirit) are attributes of Yahweh's character. They are components of His HEART! So we are actually told directly by the scriptures what part of God we should be seeking first - not His hand, but HIS HEART! For within God's heart is the very Kingdom of God that sustains us, the character that teaches us what it is to be true children of the Father, transformed into the image of Christ Who Himself is the exact image of God. Amen!
Deny the flesh today (and every day), beloved, trusting and believing that when we first seek God's HEART, we will see His hand in everything.
HALLELUJAH! Have a blessed Palm Sunday, everyone!
He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform.
You've got to love Abraham! Especially in his later life, he was such a stunning example of seasoned, unshakable faith in God that I can't help but be inspired to press on through life's journey every time I read or think of his account. WHAT a testimony!
Talk about odds stacked against him! Wow... he was 100 years old (how does that feel?) and Sarah wasn't far behind him; yet the promise of God was that they would do something that required the red blood of youth and vigor - having and raising a child of their own. By all "fleshly" accounts, that seemed pretty impossible.
And you know that's the phrase Abraham just couldn't get out of his head. For how many times had Yahweh proven Himself indelibly faithful? Bringing Abe out of Ur of the Chaldeans while he was still Abram - giving him the victory over heathens who'd captured his nephew Lot - supplying and bankrolling his personal wealth and family... the list goes on. So in the face of fulfilling His promise of "many nations", who was Abraham to doubt God's mighty hand no matter how dark the circumstance?
Therefore Abraham determined and settled his heart into being faithful to God, as God had been to him. He resolved to dodge the instability and recklessness of unbelief and to absorb within his emotions and heart of hearts that since ALMIGHTY GOD, Creator of Heaven and Earth, was doing the promising - He must be well able to deliver on those promises. Abraham yielded to the truth and refused the lie of unbelief.
I want to be like that. Don't you?
Whatever it is that Almighty God has promised to bring into your life will come into your life even as He has promised, beloved. For what He has promised He is surely able to perform. Period.
YIELD TO GOD'S TRUTH, and resolve to dodge the doubting hands of the flesh and the enemy! Throw yourself into the faithful arms of Jesus. Believe no matter what and - as did Abraham - "against hope, believe in hope" knowing that, what our God has promised, He is well able to perform. Amen and Hallelujah!
I am praying for you all... be blessed, in Jesus' Name.
Holy Spirit is the coolest Brother out there! What would we... what could we do without Him? On the job He helps, at home He helps, in our good moods and in our bad moods He is never moody or sharp or cold - with us or anyone else. We cannot live righteously without Him! Thank You, Father, for graciously allowing us to keep the law and all of Your commandments via Holy Spirit's power. Thank You for speaking through Him, reminding us of every word spoken by You and Jesus.
Holy Spirit NEVER STOPS helping! He always loves, He always blesses, He always comforts, and speaks the wisdom of Yahweh to our hearts, minds, and emotions. He reveals the true nature of the Father to our spirits, and blows His wind and stokes His fire within our beings to encourage us and gently lead us ever onward in obedience, persevering love, and TRUTH.
Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth. He is the Spirit Who knows and indwells the Father. Holy Spirit is all that and a bag of chips! And He is our gift from God through salvation and faith in Jesus Christ... what an awesome orchestration! We cannot say enough about this splendid impartation of blessing in friendship, companionship, rest, comfort, and PRAISE straight from Abba's heart...
ETERNAL GOD THE FATHER, SON, AND HOLY SPIRIT WE THANK YOU AND LOVE YOU AND BLESS YOUR COUNTENANCE IN PRAISE FOREVER!
"Therefore he sent horses and chariots and a great army there, and they came by night and surrounded the city. And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, 'Alas my master! What shall we do?' So he answered, 'Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.' And Elisha prayed and said, 'Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.' Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha."
I woke up this morning with this scripture passage from 2 Kings on my heart and mind and I thought, who can withstand the power of the Lord? The reality of that question's answer struck my heart in all the right places as I recalled the myriad blessings to my soul "seeing" into God's realm brings!
HALLELUJAH! What's going on here on earth in the natural is absolutely NOT the only reality of our existence, my friends. No, indeed; God's realm of the supernatural is where the truest reality is! It is of more tangible substance to our spirit-men than any table or chair or clanging thing of earth...
Once God's realm touches you with all its supernatural power and strength, you realize that the flesh and every other creature or thing is powerless against it! Greater INDEED is He Who is "in us" than anyone or anything in this or any world! That's a truth the enemy never wants you to embrace!
Though scripture gives a clear account of what actually happened when Elisha's servant's eyes were opened to the numerous fiery chariots lining the mountainside around the Syrians, I LOVE to imagine the servant looking at one of the Syrian captains, shaking his head, and saying..."Y'all are in trouble!" LOL!
The same holds true for every enemy of the children of God, my friends. Remember that increasing our faith in times of trouble is tantamount to God "opening our eyes" to the truth of His Sovereignty over every living thing and, especially, over all the power of the enemy! Authority to wield that same power has been granted to every child of God through faith in Jesus the Christ. Glory!
Dear Christ Jesus died and rose again to ENSURE that - at all times through faith in His Name - His children may trust, BELIEVE, and live by these words of truth...
"DO NOT FEAR, FOR THOSE WHO ARE WITH US ARE MORE THAN THOSE WHO ARE WITH THEM."
HALLELUJAH! Praise the NAME OF JESUS!
My mom has been in Heaven 22 years this month, and I still bless the day she was born.
It is indeed a wonderful thing to have our mothers here with us through the trials of our adulthood and raising our families. But for those of you whose mothers have long-since gone to Glory, I say God bless you... I know what it is to miss them very pointedly each time Mother's Day rolls around.
The Lord bless and keep our mothers, on earth or in Heaven, for they will forever mean the world to all of us.
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." (Ephesians 6:12-13)
Whether we want to acknowledge it or not, all those who are in Christ are spirit beings. While every human has a soul, through faith in Jesus Christ believers have received the destined awakening of their "spirit-man" and move throughout the realms of light and darkness under the protection, power, and leading of Almighty God.
While the flesh wants to either alter the "concept" of God or ignore Him altogether, spirits of Christians as well as the souls of humankind ALL know full well He exists and cannot be truthfully denied. Every breath we take is full of His mercy and presence; every spark of our brainwaves declares His Sovereignty and excellent work.
That's why there's a battle.
Think of how ludicrous it is for atheists and unbelievers to put up such a fight against someone they truly believe isn't there! They strike at the air and vigorously enlist others to do so, contradicting with every blow their foolish declaration that there is no God. Why lash out at "nothing" if you honestly, utterly, and sincerely believe "nothing" is there? Moreover, if it truly is nothing, in the end, why should it matter if others believe it's "something"? That's their issue, right? And even if they try to make it your issue - it's nothing, remember? So, shouldn't "nothing" be completely harmless and ineffective? Then why the infernal fuss about God? Why?
BECAUSE GOD IS REAL. HE LIVES, and the enemy knows He lives. HE IS ALL-POWERFUL, and the enemy knows that, too. Most important, ALL AUTHORITY in Heaven and Earth (and below the earth) has been given to JESUS THE CHRIST and none other; ALL JUDGEMENT has also been committed unto Him. The enemy especially knows and fears this, but he doesn't want others to know and, at all costs, he doesn't want us "authority-wielding" Christians to realize how thoroughly we can mow him down in Jesus' Name! Hallelujah!
Since God is a constant reality, and He is Sovereignly aware of our thoughts, emotions, movements, and choices there is no "getting around Him" short of blatant denial. (Think about it: Someone who doesn't exist need not be denied!) Those who make that effort are shrieking volumes about the paltry condition of their hearts.
Let's apply this discernment to prayer for God's mercy to descend on the pain-filled masses denying His existence. What if one of them were you, my friends? Wouldn't you want there to be enough unconditional love and hope within believers to extend to you a prayer of rescue? I would.
Folks who skirt the issue of God's existence are full of fear. They need prayer. They need mercy. THEY NEED JESUS. But they are only going to get Him through God's power in those of us who believe. God's compassion and persevering love of unbelievers at work within us is the greatest weaponry against the enemy. Only the humble, merciful undertaking of prayer on their behalf will penetrate their souls with a saving knowledge of Jesus. The ultimate choice of accepting or rejecting Him is theirs - but let's resolve today to pray them through to the point of decision. As you are praying for their acceptance of the reality of good and evil, and of God's existence, and of Christ's loving sacrifice, think to yourself - where would I be if someone hadn't prayed for me?
At some point, every person living on earth will be brought to the place illustrated above. Male, female, rich, poor, slave, or free - interested and uninterested - ALL will be asked to choose the direction their lives will take.
What I also find intriguing is that "choice" never (ever) ends for us throughout life, especially for the Christian. I say that because, while choosing life in Jesus Christ hallmarks the existence of all believers, it also targets us to receive, um... particular attention from the enemy. When all his gauges "go to red" in areas of temptation to sin, choices take on a whole different meaning and soar in importance to new heights for God's kids.
Even though we're saved, our walk with God in all the areas He desires to deliver will always bring us to a place of deciding whether we want to follow and obey His will or the enemy's. Trusting Jesus will inevitably park the car of our journey before the crossroads of "keeping or letting go" sinful, fleshly attitudes and mindsets. Holy Spirit's urgings are purposed, 100%, to present us with a blatant question: "Do you love Me more than these?"
What say you, my friends? Have you come to your crossroads today? Of course you have - they're with us every day. We make choices, selections, decisions EVERY SINGLE DAY of our lives, and not one of them is ever small (even if we consider them so). Be encouraged that although choices loom on every ledge and around each corner, our God is NOT standing over you with His arms crossed, checking a stopwatch and snarling. No way.
God already knows every detail of your situation, and His hands are positioned to "rescue" and not condemn. Here's what the Eternal Father has to say about you, your dilemma, and the remedy...
"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool; if you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." (Isaiah 1:18-20)
The results of our choices is made clear by God in this scripture. His willingness to walk us through each trial is also evident... but the decision is ours, always. Remember that if we ask, Holy Spirit will enable us to choose righteously. If that is our desire, God will give us a way out of every temptation so we can proceed "from glory to glory", as His scripture says. But one thing about the issue of embracing righteousness or rebellion will never, ever change, folks...
THE CHOICE IS YOURS.
Today's teaching is shared by my best friend and twin sister in Jesus, Lynette Joyce. She is an elder in the Body of Christ and possessed of God's wisdom and maturity regarding intimacy and its critical importance to our well being. Thank you, Lynette, for blessing us with God's truth!
There’s a saying I have used many times…. "Life can sometimes get in the way of living." While this saying has tons of truth in it, it’s not "life" as much as it is human choice that really affects our "living" from day to day.
Based on the choices we make and/or the choices of others that somehow trickle down and affect us, a regular routine day can turn into a running, chasing, busy, or traumatic day. In my opinion, one of the fastest recorded "time" segments is a New York Minute! Life can go from seemingly normal by your personal standards to all out of whack by everyone’s standards!
When we factor in the truth that God is not confined by "time" but works with us within time, it really pays for us to take the time to put God into our day at every opportunity. His hand of protection on our situations and emotions can keep us from going overboard when we are having "life" experiences.
It’s God that keeps us "living" and only He can give us life and that more abundantly. Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father. Nothing bad, ever. Those are from the enemy and he hates us because we are loved by God. Putting God into your day as your armor/buffer zone will put His focus on every situation and allow Holy Spirit to guide you to peace beyond all understanding.
So if you are faced with life getting in your way of living, try putting God into your day, humbly from your heart. Try
it. It really works. It will keep your life and living at harmony with one another.
